concept + layout
This concept was dreamed up while shopping the aisles of Target (in my natural habitat), and produced as a final project for undergrad. Though trained in graphic design, I've always been the type that is inspired by the entire world of design, from furniture to industrial and everything in between, and I jump at the opportunity to combine my passions. So when confronted with the challenge to create a vision for a museum exhibition - any museum - and produce an exhibition catalog, I knew exactly the direction I would take it. I was inspired by Karim Rashid's Method packaging the moment I saw it in Target, and as I researched him, I discovered that with each passing day his design legacy is growing. From packaging to products to interiors - Karim is a jack of all trades. But the most fascinating aspect of his design career is that he lives in a world that he creates. "Beauty in the Personal Form" celebrates his design by showcasing his own Miami home - a haven designed completely by him – from exteriors to furniture and sculptures. His home, much like a museum of his work, would be the focal point of the exhibition and highlights the products, room by room.
